Is there a future lord chief justice in your class? Students of 14 and over can find out about a career at the Bar through the Speakers 4 Schools scheme. Several hundred barristers, including some QCs, are willing to visit classes to speak about the legal profession. They will tailor their discussion to schools’ needs, with special attention given to dispelling myths created by courtroom dramas on TV. The emphasis will be on study, training and realistic human interest rather than on the last minute unmasking of murderers. For information on the scheme and a registration form, contact Alexandra Glyde, careers and information assistant, Speakers for Schools Registration, General Council of the Bar, 23 Cursitor Street, London EC4A 1NE www.legaleducation.org.ukCareerss4s.php
