Divided over how to say I hate you

Our report on the funding of cross-community projects in North Belfast under the Peace II scheme ("Divided over how to say I hate you", July 18, 2003) contained criticism that the funding process carried out by Proteus NI Limited, one of the bodies responsible for administering the Peace II fund, was riddled with irregularities, that Proteus lacked independence and that it was biased and guilty of nepotism in dealing with grant applications.

We accept that those criticisms were wrong.

We withdraw the imputations contained in that article and apologise for any offence or harm caused to that organisation and its representatives.
