Tips for school sites: Beaupre community primary school, Outwell, Cambridgeshire. http:edweb.camcnty.gov.ukschoolsbeaupreBeaupre.html

Steven Hales, headteacher at Beaupre primary, advises using the KISS strategy: “Keep It Simple, Stupid”.

Stephen Hales’s tips

* If you aren’t an information technology whizz it is worth paying an expert to help you plan, build and update the site. The pupils and I set up our site with the helof Paul Springford, an advisory teacher for ICT in Cambridgeshire, who handled most of thetechnical side.

* Don’t be scared of using your site as a marketing tool - and that doesn’t mean simply putting up your prospectus. Develop community links and projects with other schools. We set up videoconferencing with students in Greece.
