I was heartened to read Frank Furedi’s call to “Forget gimmicks and `motivational techniques’” (“Make children embrace the boredom”, October 23).
It reminded me of the horror I felt when I learnt that a friend had been told at an ICT training course that it was the business of teachers to “edutain”.
