Teachers have until July 1 to apply for bursaries worth up to pound;500 to pay for their own professional development. The bursaries, for courses taking place in the autumn term, are provided by the General Teaching Council for Wales. There is a deadline of November 1 for courses in professional development undertaken after Christmas. See www.gtcw.org.uk
