Crowds of cars outside the school gates spell pollution and danger. Parking restrictions and speed bumps can help, but people need to change, too. Creating A Safe Journey To School is a short but informative video from Sustrans, showing schemes such as “walking buses” and “cycle trains”, devised by local authorities, schools, parents and children working in partnership. A thousand copies of the video are being distributed free to LEAs and schools. Further copies are pound;5 (schoolsindividuals) or pound;10 (LEAs) from Sustrans, 35 King Street, Bristol BS1 4DZ.
