The first ever Urbanise Festival took place in Bridport, Dorset, this week at the Sir John Colfox School as part of the RELAYS (Regional Educational Legacy for Arts and Youth Sport) project. The scheme aims to engage young people in the South West in sporting and cultural events in the run-up to the London 2012 Games.

Students from the Arts University College Bournemouth and Bournemouth University co-ordinated events ranging from workshops in skateboarding to sessions on BMXing, street soccer, street dance, DJ-ing and graffiti.

Approximately 100 Year 9, 10 and 11 pupils from Sir John Colfox took part. mh.
