We can only hope the new Holyrood Parliament is better equipped than the old Lothian council buildings which temporarily house the MSPs’ education committee. Sadly, there appears to be an acute shortage of the letter t.

Television screens in the Parliament inform viewers which particular committee they are watching. Judging by the latest offering, there are ample m’s and e’s but an embarrassing lack of t’s. Officials have been forced to abbreviate the title to “Education Commitee”.

Surely, more funds are needed?
