Few speeches from recent history are still so moving as Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” address to tens of thousands at the climax of the March on Washington in August 1963. Arguably the best of several video and sound clips on the Martin Luther King CD-Rom, the speech will thrill and inspire students even today. Most of the material comprises sometimes lengthy transcripts of King’s speeches on such matters as the Vietnam war, religion, civil disobedience and poverty, while distinguished people’s views of King, a timeline of his life, teachers’ notes and student resources round off the package. Martin Luther King CD-Rom costs pound;10 from the Peace Pledge Union.
