A Kent teacher who drove into two pupils while drunk is be allowed to keep his job.

Governors at Herne Bay high decided that Christopher Burke, 41, who knocked the pupils off their mopeds as he reversed out of a Chinese restaurant on February 13, could keep his pound;30,000-a - year post as a maths teacher.

Mr Burke was fined pound;300 and disqualified from driving for 20 months by Canterbury magistrates after he pleaded guilty to drink driving.
