'Dumbing-down' claim

Director Sir Peter Hall has accused the Government of "dumbing down Britain" by minimising arts teaching in primary schools. Speaking at the launch of the theatrical world's education initiative, he attacked ministers for taking music, art and drama off the priority list in primary schools.
