DYSLEXIC children saw off rival hacks from 150 other schools to scoop the top prizes in a regional newspaper competition.
Pupils from Nunnykirk Centre for Dyslexia, Morpeth, Northumberland, won the best magazine category, while classmate Joe Matthews was named young journalist of the year for an exclusive interview with Sir Paul McCartney. The school was the overall 1999 winners of the competition, organised by The Journal, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
