Dyslexia support groups welcome OFSTED plea to catch them early;News in Brief;News;News amp; Opinion

DYSLEXIA support organisations have given an enthusiastic welcome to a new Office for Standards in Education report on those specific learning difficulties involving the written word.

The survey says pupils with reading and spelling difficulties should be given additional, well-structured support as early as possible at primary school - a move which OFSTED believes would reduce the need for producing statements of special educational need for such pupils later on in their school careers.
