I will be entitled to extra time but for the mental arithmetic section of the numeracy test and the part where words are read out to you in the literacy test, extra time makes no difference. I will always be dyslexic and have developed strategies for dealing with numeracy and literacy. I have a computer, a dictionary and a calculator.
By spending time revising, it should be possible for me to passthese tests (fingers crossed) but it will not make me more literate, numerate or a better teacher! I cannot see how the Teacher Training Agency can justify enforcing these tests for those who have successfully completed their main training, when it is already a requirement that all postgraduate certificate in education students have to have maths and English GCSEs at grade C or above.
