Hundreds of primary school pupils in Aberdeen are to start classes 20 minutes earlier. After the summer holidays, pupils at the city’s Glashieburn primary will start lessons at 8.40am instead of 9am, and finish at 3pm. Education officials are piloting the changes in one school to see if the earlier start brings about improvements in pupils’ concentration.
