Venus is the latest planet to be explored by UK planetary scientists working with the European Space Agency. Nicknamed the Earth’s “Evil Twin”, Venus is similar to the Earth in mass and size, but has a dramatically different climate, including clouds that are made of sulphuric acid, and a backwards orbit. To help teachers bring this subject into the classroom, they can access free downloadable resources about space science and particle physics. Suitable for ages nine to 16, the resources includes colour posters and curriculum-linked worksheets. www.pparc.ac.ukvenus
