The Ragged School Museum in Copperfield Road, Bow, London E3, was one of Dr Barnardo’s many projects in the East End. There are displays about Dr Barnardo, the Copperfield Road Ragged School, and life and work in the East End in the 1890s. School groups can sit at old desks and write on slates in the Victorian classroom and receive a lesson based on “the three Rs” led by a strict Victorian schoolmarm.
