SANDWICHES and fruit are the first things children bin from their lunch boxes - what they want are crisps and biscuits, a survey commissioned by the manufacturers of Ribena revealed this week. Two-thirds of parents had no concerns about whether their children were eating their lunch, but 81 per cent of pupils admitted throwing items away. Researchers quizzed 60 nine to 11-year olds and 262 parents at a Buckinghamshire school, which was deemed to be representative of schools in the UK.
