* The ECB has just accredited six consortia as centres of cricketing excellence under a pound;300,000 scheme due to begin next year.
They are: Bradford, Leeds and Leeds Metropolitan universities; Cambridge and Anglia Polytechnic universities; Cardiff University, University of Wales Institute, Cardiff and the University of Glamorgan; Durham University; Loughborough University; and Oxford and Oxford Brookes universities.
