The future of eight small schools in the Borders will continue to be kept under review, the authority’s education executive decided last week. The council has a series of trigger points for action, including a likely fall in a school’s roll to below 13 pupils in the ensuing three years, and if it needs “urgent investment that would be disproportionate”.
