This week we join a quest for hidden treasure to discover what, if anything, lies beyond a doorway in a shaft that leads from a room deep within the Great Pyramid - it’s a “chamber of secrets” to rival any fictional namesake (page 13). Modern technology plays its part in unlocking this ancient mystery, but it cannot help us understand the purpose behind it. Connections with the past are tantalising. If we take our lessons from Hollywood we know that the Tudors Charles Laughton-style were without table manners. True? Find out on page 19 as we invite you inside the banqueting chamber (page 19). Bon appetit!
