Bananas are good for you. Each “finger” contains no fat, no cholesterol and no salt. These vitamin-rich parcels are the best-selling fruit in Britain - we currently consume five billion per year (though not a single one contributes to my balanced diet). They have been around since the Stone Age, but the era of the banana may soon be over... Our primary project unzips all the facts (page 19). We’re also discussing love this week, mixing facts with a few pheromones (page 12). And our selections of science books (page 16) and historical novels (page 28) cater for those who find facts more palatably served as fiction.
