What was life like for our prehistoric ancestors? We don’t really know.

Apart from fossils and cave paintings, there’s not much physical evidence.

The fact we don’t know all the answers - that pupils aren’t just served up a predetermined body of knowledge - may light the spark of passion for the subject. Perhaps your students will want to join Steve Mithen’s quest to piece together the past (page 8).
