The Education Resources Awards (ERAs) recognise excellence in teaching resources across the board, but ICT took the top honours at this year’s awards ceremony held during the Education Show at the NEC in Birmingham.

The list of winners gave a sense of dej... vu with Granada Learning and Promethean fresh from success at Bett. Primary Zone, the subscription website from Granada, which won the best online learning resource at Bett, was voted best ICT resource at the ERAs. Promethean, the leading educational whiteboard brand, which took both primary and secondary hardware categories at Bett, won the award for exporter of the year. Assessability from SEMERC, Literacy Box from Sherston Software, Lego and Steven Spielberg Movie Maker Set and the I-desk from Time Education all won awards.

Teaching professionals were also recognised. Janet Bourne of Lea Valley Educational Support Centre won the leadership in teaching award, and St Benedict’s Catholic primary school in Coventry was named educational establishment of the year. A full list of the 2002 ERA winners can be found at the British Educational Suppliers Association website at www.besanet. org.uknewsedshow2002_erawin_pr.htm
