An Education is the story of a teenage girl’s coming-of-age set in an early 1960s Britain on the cusp of the strait-laced, post-war period and the free-spirited decade to come. A bright schoolgirl is torn between studying for a place at Oxford and the rather more exciting alternative offered to her by a charismatic older man. Directed by award-winning Danish filmmaker Lone Scherfig (Italian for Beginners, Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself) and from a screenplay by Nick Hornby (About a Boy), An Education was adapted from a memoir by journalist Lynn Barber.Starring Peter Sarsgaard, Dominic Cooper, Rosamund Pike, Emma Thompson and Carey Mulligan, An Education is released in cinemas on October 30th.The screenings will be held at Cineworld cinemas in: Glasgow, Cardiff, Milton Keynes, Edinburgh, Crawley, Sheffield and Wandsworth.
