Primary schools that can’t quite manage a trip to the Land of the Rising Sun, might consider a visit to the Embassy of Japan instead. Groups of 30 or so children can spend the day practising Japanese crafts, learning a few useful phrases and sampling traditional delicacies. The Embassy is also happy to provide schools with fact sheets about the country and two excellent full-colour booklets.
