Reintroducing school trips to Germany, Austria and France, transformed interest in languages at our school. For many it was their first journey outside England. As a teacher, it is probably the most important contribution I have made to pupils’ personal and social education.
But a few months ago, a teacher in the north of England made a stupid decision on a trip and ended up in in jail. So I’ m not planning to take any more trips abroad. Why? Because I’m scared.
