KS2 Ask pupils to write as full a description as they can of their sitting room or kitchen, including colours, decoration, furniture and so on. They should take this home and see how accurate their description has been.
KS3 KS4 Read and listen to Wordsworth’s “Daffodils”, and decide how the poet conveys the visual effect of the “host”. What is the “inward eye”?

Students should read (and ideally learn) Milton’s Sonnet XVI, “On his blindness”. Why is eyesight so important to the poet? How does he attempt to reconcile himself to its loss?
