Schools still have time to enter the Hannah Frank poetry competition, set up to commemorate the acclaimed Glasgow-born Jewish artist and sculptor who died in 2008, aged 100.

The competition contains four categories for young people and another for adults: entrants are asked to write a short poem of not more than 40 lines in Scots or English inspired by Frank’s black-and-white drawings.

The first 100 Scottish schools to express an interest in entering the competition, by emailing hannahfrankart@googlemail.com and giving their postal address, will receive a free pack of materials consisting of two illustrated books on Frank’s life work, one of which contains teaching ideas and a DVD about her creations.
