World Book Day
To mark a new partnership between TES Resources and World Book Day (1 March), we are focusing on reading and writing, inviting children to embark on fresh adventures and discover new authors and illustrators.
How can you celebrate?
Watch The Biggest Book Show on Earth, a new online festival created by World Book Day. It will feature bestselling authors including Derek Landy and Children's Laureate Julia Donaldson, who will be taking questions from pupils around the country. Submit your questions now at http:worldbookday.streamuk.com
Encourage teenage students to download the World Book Day app, where they can find new stories from Anthony Horowitz, Charlie Higson, Malorie Blackman and more. Visit www.worldbookday.com to find inspiring activities for the classroom. Or share your best teaching resources for World Book Day on the TES website for your chance to win a Kindle and #163;125 in book tokens.
Why take part?
Cressida Cowell, author of the How to Train Your Dragon series, says World Book Day is so valuable "because the most important thing for a child's educational success is that they read for pleasure".
Share your plans and photos on the website. For more resources check out the TES World Book Day collection.
