Shakespeare for the young

The Royal Shakespeare Company and young children's theatre specialists Oily Cart have created In a Pickle to introduce children aged 2-4 to the work of the Bard.

What is it?

Loosely based on The Winter's Tale, the show combines live music, costumes, smells and textures to create a multisensory journey. After the scene is set, the show becomes interactive: children use clues to solve a mystery.

How can you see it?

The show will be performed in the Swan Theatre's Swan Room in Stratford-upon-Avon until 17 June, before visiting London and Newcastle. See www.worldshakespearefestival.org.uk.
