Touring tales

Children’s authors Helen Stephens and Jan Fearnley will talk to pupils at the Seven Stories centre in Newcastle upon Tyne, a gallery that celebrates the world of children’s books with exhibitions and themed activities.

What is it?

Helen Stephens will read from her books, display her sketches and take part in a QA session on 22 June. Afterwards, children can create their own drawings inspired by her stories. Jan Fearnley will read from her story Harry and the Jaggedy Daggers on 29 June, before inviting pupils to take part in a craft activity.

How to visit?

Entrance to the centre costs #163;3.95 per pupil with two free teacher places for every 10 children. School sessions last two hours including an exhibition visit and craft workshop.

What else?

Seven Stories can arrange for authors and illustrators to visit schools. For more information, go to www.sevenstories.org.uk.
