The Royal Society of Literature and the Booker Prize Foundation have announced that the writer Candia McWilliam will hold a masterclass in Edinburgh this autumn.
The event, entitled “Memory and imagination”, will take place at Stockbridge Library on September 24. It will show aspiring writers what is required to become a successful author and allow them to have their work professionally critiqued.
McWilliam is the author of novels including A Case of Knives (1988) and Debatable Land (1994) and the short story collection Wait Till I Tell You (1997). Her most recent book, What to Look for in Winter, is a memoir about the experience of going blind. She is a former judge of the Man Booker Prize.
The event is open to non-members of the Royal Society of Literature.
