It’s often hard to make sense of current affairs, particularly the recent tragic and bloody attack on Muslims on their pilgrimage to Karbala, Iraq.

Thankfully, Channel 4 has put together a website on Muharram, the month of mourning observed by Shi’a Muslims in memory of the Prophet’s grandson Husayn, killed in battle 1324 years ago. The site takes in both the history and the present day and talks to pilgrims for both the Middle East and the UK. Enlightening.
