Learning and Teaching Scotland’s “Global Footprint” resource has been updated and improved.
It comprises a range of calculators which work out an individual’s and a school’s ecological footprint or greenhouse gas emissions for a variety of categories and was originally launched in 2006, in collaboration with WWF.
The calculator can be logged into using the Glow schools’ intranet, and results stored in a central database. This data can be used in the future if schools want to make comparisons, or show overall results.
Users can also save a text file of their results to their own machine, and mini-calculators have been added to allow users to convert units to the required measurement.
