“The underemployment of disabled graduates in school teaching is a national disgrace” says Disability West Midlands, an organisation that promotes equal rights for disabled people. Their booklet, Disabled Students Teachers and their Employment: a checklist of good practice, aims to help increase the number of disabled people training to become teachers. It covers pre-application, application, offer and interview stage, teaching practice and seeking employment; available in Braille, large print or on tapedisk.
