An error in probability

I very much agreed with Jon Swain’s article in the Maths Extra describing simple classroom practicals, using coins and dice, to introduce “probability”.

He was in error, however, in stating that the “most likely” score when calculating the “difference” in scores on two dice is zero: it is in fact one.
