Success stories involving students whose first language is not English have been made available online.
The Scottish Qualifications Authority has made a number of case studies available, with the most recent additions dealing with two Higher students. Higher English for speakers of other languages helped Sonia Mustafa, of St Roch’s Secondary in Glasgow, to progress to a B.Sc in biomedical sciences at Strathclyde University. Alice Keung, of Glasgow Metropolitan College, took the same course and is now working as an architect’s assistant.
Case studies can be downloaded from the SQA’s ESOL pages. For help with ESOL units and courses, contact Eunice McAllister T 0845 279 1000.www.sqa.org.uksqa8330.html#part2.
