In your article (“Hurdles to promotion are letting minority ethnic talents fall away”, May 8) both the summary and the text use the term “ethnic” incorrectly.
Everyone has an ethnicity and therefore to refer to “black and ethnic” principals or backgrounds is incorrect.
I thought this issue had been resolved some time ago when I wrote to The TES about it. I had a response agreeing with my point and stating that notice would be taken of it in future.
Perhaps this could be brought to the attention of all writers.
