EUROCLIO, the European Standing Conference of History Teachers’ Associations, aims to defend and promote history teaching as an essential subject in the education of young people as well as promote European awareness among its members.
The 2001 annual conference takes as its theme “A changing world, the significance of everyday life in the learning and teaching ofhistory with the focus on the 20th century”.
The history of everyday life is seen as an opportunity to investigate common experiences in Europe - avoiding controversial political issues.
