One thing they all seem to agree on is the need for greater communication between schools. With this in mind, European Schoolnet was set up with the support of 23 education ministries throughout Europe.
Schoolnet vigorously promotes the use of ICT in the classroom and has launched the e-Learning Awards to highlight schools that are finding innovative ways of using ICT. Prizes include 60,000 Euros (pound;37,900), travel and ICT equipment The closing date is Friday, May 11. Application forms are available online from http:eschola.eun.org Before entering, you can see how your school measures up by taking a look at those showcased in the European Network of Innovative Schools (Enis) which can be accessed on the main Schoolnet site at www.eun.org. As well as encouraging links between schools and disseminating best ICT practice, Schoolnet is a goldmine for information on the best online resources.
