FAMILY EVENTS AT THE NATIONAL MARITIME MUSEUM, GREENWICH

As part of the national Festival of Arts and Culture, there will be family trails to discover secrets of famous wrecks and ships’ figureheads; tales of sea and land battles related by 19th-century seaman and Greenwich pensioner, Joe Brown; planetarium shows; and performances of sea shanties. APRIL 10-21

EASTER DRAMA COURSE

Dance, singing and acting classes for young people aged six to 15+ at the London Academy of Performing Arts, The Church, 2 Effie Road, Fulham Broadway, London SW6. Students will work with a director on a text or improvised project. Previous experience not necessary but participants should be interested in exploring basic techniques. The Rambert Dance Company Touring Norwich, Swindon, Ashton-under-Lyme and Edinburgh with world and UK premieres of new works by Per Jonsson, Matthew Hawkins and RDC’s artistic director, Christopher Bruce. Bruce’s 50th creation, set to Michael Nyman’s “Where the Bee Dances”, will be performed at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre and his “Swansong” and “Rooster” at all venues. Details: 0181 995 4246.

WORKING TOWARDS REAL INTEGRATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Seminarworkshop, organised by National Association of Youth Circus and led by Phil Burton of Interplay and Circus Eruption, for anyone who uses circus skills with young people with SEN. INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL GROUNDS DAY

Schools are organising hundreds of events (with a special emphasis on trees) linking up with projects around the world and ranging from the construction of bird boxes to community events such as “Green Fairs”. Learning Through Landscapes is hosting a national event at which MPs will pledge their support for the vital role school grounds play in helping children develop positive attitudes about their environment.
