* The Formula Palmer Audi racing car designed by Jonathan Palmer and the engineering products of James Dyson, who made the first advance in vacuum cleaner design since 1901, will be on display at this year’s Design and Technology Education Show, November 19-21, at the National Exhibition Centre, Hall 7, Birmingham. A new key stage 3 teaching pack based around the car will be launched at the show. Also on display will be work from schools and colleges, student fashion shows and a travelling food technology theatre and workshop.Lectures include Professor Robert McCormick, Open University, on “Capability lost and found” (insights into how children design and solve problems and use knowledge from such subjects as science and maths).
