RESOLVING CONFLICT IN HOME AND SCHOOL
Noel Janis-Norton, learning and behaviour specialist, and her colleague Gillian Edwards give regular evening talks to parents and teachers on such topics as: successful strategies for coping with difficult children; dyslexia and dyspraxia; bullying, delinquency, truancy and school phobia. Annual display at National Gallery of Scotland, Edinburgh, bequeathed by Henry Vaughan, who stipulated they should only be shown in January when daylight is at its weakest and is least likely to damage the works. Free admission. Details: 0131 556 8921.

ANTI-RACIST PRACTICE IS GOOD PRACTICE
Series of seminars organised by the Black Childcare Network, Early Childhood Unit and Early Years Trainers Anti-Racist Network, 5.15-6.45 pm. Venues: Lawn Lane Centre, London SW8 and Crowndale Centre, London NW1.
Topics include: “You can’t play with us”: dealing with racist incidents, and “Excluding black boys: the facts behind the statistics”.

RED NOSE DAY
A free pack for schools is now available with ideas for fund-raising, sponsorship forms and information on where the money will be going. Also available is a free tape and pack, Riotous Assembly, containing two school assemblies led by a Comic Relief comedian, other Red Nose footage and teaching materials, plus a challenge to schools to devise their own Red Nose assembly.
