Using a cardboard interactive compact disc, available free from information desks, children aged seven and over are invited to sort out a jumbled selection of heads, bodies, legs and phrases and identify the pictures to which they belong. Plus gallery talks for five to 11-year-olds, December 27-31, on such themes as “by magic”, “through the air” and “on four legs”, a circular quiz for adults with prizes, and seasonal lunchtime lectures. UNTIL MARCH 15 SEBASTIAO SALGADO - WORKERS: ARCHAEOLOGY OF THE INDUSTRIAL AGE In the Serra Pelada goldmine of Brazil, workers crawl over the earth like ants; Sicilian fishermen wrestle with giant, grimacing tunafish; and blackened firefighters in Kuwait slump in exhaustion during the Gulf War. These images are included in this exhibition at the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television, Bradford, of people who earn their living by physical toil. Details: 0274 727488.

DECEMBER 27-31 AND JANUARY 2-3 PREHISTORIC PRACTICES Period craft activities and storytelling sessions for families at the Museum of London, EC2 to celebrate the opening of the new Prehistoric London gallery. Children can watch a coracle being made, decorate sophisticated jewellery inspired by archaeological finds, decorate their faces or bodies with washable paint as prehistoric people did, and more.
