SEPTEMBER 23-30 NATIONAL BREAD WEEK. Primary school children are invited to organise sponsored walks in their grounds throughout September in aid of the British Heart Foundation and their schools.
They can also raise dough by baking “healthy, hearty buns” at school to sell to parents and fellow pupils. A Bread for Life athlete, such as Tony Jarrett, world 110m hurdle silver medallist, will visit the top fundraising school.

SEPTEMBER 23-24. 17TH CENTURY HARVEST CELEBRATION The History Re-enactment Workshop will “live for the day” in the 17th-century Clarke Hall in Wakefield as members of the Clarke family and their friends and servants.
