Young archaeologists are wanted for the St Leonard’s Hospital Dig, York, which is open until September 1. York Archaeological Trust is inviting school groups up to age 16 to visit the dig site from 10am-3.30pm Wednesdays to Sundays to view the trenches and a selection of the finds and talk to and watch archaeologists in action. Workshops led by trained archaeologists will be held on Tuesdays from June 25 where activities will include sieving earth to collect small bones, pottery and other finds and then washing and identifying them.
