SEPTEMBER 7-OCTOBER 27

IMAGINED COMMUNITIES Photographs of all 144 children in the new intake at North Westminster Community School are on display in this National Touring Exhibition at the Royal Festival Hall, London SE1. They were taken by Christian Boltanski, one of the nine featured artists. Another highlight is a “Most Wanted Paintings” Internet project, on what citizens of the US, Finland and Russia most want to see framed on their walls (all plump for frontier landscapes and wild animals, but Russians place Christ at the centre and Americans, George Washington). The display moves to Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art, December 6-February 16. Details: 0171 921 0837.

SEPTEMBER 14 FROM STONE AGE TO SAXONS A celebration of National Archaeology Day at Brighton museum and art gallery. Activities include prehistoric weaving, Roman mosaics, finds sorting. Hour-long pot making sessions will be run at 10am, 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3pm. Tickets on the door at Pounds 1 per pot. Details: 01273 713289.
