THE LIFE OF GALILEO
The Library Theatre, Manchester, is presenting the first showing outside London of David Hare’s translation of Brecht’s play. WEAR JEANS TO SCHOOL DAY
Cystic fibrosis is just one of more than 5,000 disorders caused by a faulty or missing gene. The Jeans for Genes Appeal aims to raise Pounds 2 million to fund research and help build a Gene Therapy Centre. Organised by Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital Fund and three other charities, the appeal invites staff and pupils to wear jeans to school and contribute Pounds 1. IL CAMPIELLO
Opera students from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama are staging Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari’s sentimental comedy at the Guildhall School Theatre, London EC2, 7pm. Directed by Tim Carroll, former assistant director, English Shakespeare Company, it centres on one day in the life of a Venetian piazza’s colourful community.
