FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT IN CHICAGO: THE EARLY YEARS. Exhibition of the great American architect’s early work at the Design Museum, Shad Thames, London SE1. It features his Prairie-style house, in which all furniture, fixtures and fittings reflect the design of the whole, and original drawings of domestic interiors, which reveal his passion for ornament and decorative design. SEACHANGE:THE ARCHAEOLOGY OF MANUFACTURED OBJECTS. Mixed media exhibition at St Martin’s Gallery, Trafalgar Square, London WC2, by artists and lecturers Janet Goodkin, Julia Wilson, and Ann Putterill. The theme is the history an object acquires through time and exhibits include: plaster pieces; underwater designs combining 20th-century toys from boot sales with objects from the banks of the Thames; and mythological and religious figures made of flotsam and jetsam from the sea shore. DYSLEXIA AWARENESS DAY. Organised by the Dyslexia Institute and North Birmingham Dyslexia Association at University of Central England, Edgbaston, for teachers, parents and adult dyslexics wishing to find out about the Code of Practice, how to recognise if a child has Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia), and where to seek help.
